“Jon & Kate Plus 8″ returns after split… and while the ratings suffered a bit for the August 3 return episode, people are still interested in the Gosselin family.

Jon & Kate Plus 8′s return episode following the announcement of their divorce in June (and a six week hiatus), grabbed 4 million viewers, a huge drop from their record-breaking break-up episode on June 22 which saw 10.6 million viewers tune in. The 9:30 episode on August 3 drew 4.2 million viewers.

Despite the drop in viewership, Jon & Kate Plus 8 is still chugging along, with Monday’s return ep after the split still beating ratings numbers from last spring.

Jon & Kate Plus 8′s return episode after the split saw dad, Jon, helping with a kitchen remodel, while mom, Kate took the kids on vacay and attempted a camp-out.

It’ll be interesting to see if more viewers will drop in the coming weeks… after all, the show’s original family concept is no more.
