While John Travolta had been attached to the role of J.R. Ewing for the big screen version of “Dallas,” it looks like he was cut loose from the “Dallas” movie. According to a friend of John Travolta’s, the “Dallas” producers “have gone in a different direction than was originally intended.”

Looks like they want a more “comedic, behind-the-scenes” look at the small screen drama – and Ben Stiller has reportedly been offered the role of J.R. Ewing.
