Jimmy Fallon to Take Over For Conan O’Brien in 2009

This isn’t such surprising news — after all, Jimmy Fallon has been rumored to take over for Conan O’Brien for some months now. But now, it’s official. Jimmy Fallon signed a deal to become the new host of “Late Night” after Conan O’Brien leaves in 2009.
Although NBC has yet to make the official announcement, it’s expected that the news will be formally announced during the May 12 upfront event.
Conan O’Brien, of course, is moving to host the Tonight Show after Jay Leno retires.
