Wow, talk about no downtime between the end of The Bachelor and the beginning of The Bachelorette – Jillian Harris, the third runner-up on The Bachelor will take on the reigns of The Bachelorette, premiering May 18 on ABC.

Jillian Harris is a 29-year-old interior designer.

The announcement was made by the host of “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose,” Chris Harrison: “It was really a pretty easy decision for us to make. There was one girl on (The Bachelor) this season that really captured America’s heart and the groundswell of support for her to be the next Bachelorette was overwhelming. Ladies and gentlemen, help me welcome our new Bachelorette, Jillian!”
