The Jersey Shore stars demanded a big pay raise following the first season’s success, receiving a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode for season 2 (look for that on July 29).

A move to replace the Jersey Shore cast could freshen up the concept in the third season and save MTV a little cash too. But will viewers follow along, a la oh-so-many seasons of The Real World?
