Buzz that Jennifer Lopez would be joining the American Idol judges’ panel came right on the heels of Ellen DeGeneres’ announcement to leave the series.

People.com reports that an industry source says that Jennifer Lopez has already closed the deal, saying, “It’s true. She’s excited about it.”

Jennifer Lopez has previously provided mentoring to American Idol contestants on a past season, and yeah, she has industry experience… but will she be a decent judge?
