CNN’s Showbiz Tonight reports on the future of “Zoey 101,” and the buzz is that Jamie Lynn Spears will not be fired from the series.

TV executives at Nickelodeon reportedly don’t think Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy poses a threat to the “Zoey 101″ series. “Zoey 101″ is the number one series among “tweens,” ages 9 to 14 – Jamie Lynn Spears’ show also earns millions with merchandising and DVD sales. You can bet executives aren’t going to give all that up over a little teenage pregnancy scandal.

The third season finale of “Zoey 101” airs this Friday on Nickelodeon.

I find it absolutely appaulling that they are going to keep her show on and not fire her. She is setting a bad example for America’s youth, and we wonder why our youth is the way it is these days!!

I can guarantee that my daughter will never be allowed to view anyone who believes that teen pregnancy is okay as a role model. It’s funny how we hear every day that teen pregnancy is a problem in this country, but yet the producers of Nickelodeon are willing to condone it so they don’t lose any money. Sick!

I am certainly not going to allow my tween (10 yrs) daughter to watch nickolodeon at all, if they don’t fire her. I find it an unacceptable message to let the show to continue to air at all. I think we’ll just keep watching old episodes of “Lizzie McGuire” – Hilary Duff still represnts a positive image :)

I agree with Jen! Yes, teenage pregnancies do happen, but that doesn’t mean she should get to keep her job when she is a so-called role model to young girls. She needs to be an example by losing her job, showing life is not all hunky-dory when you make stupid choices. That will make other girls think twice before allowing it to happen to them. They (young celebs) want to be in the limelight, then they need to be good examples to our youth. (I am a mother of 2 boys, btw)

Jamie Lynn Spears has left Zoey 101 and Nick on her own terms to be a full time mother to her little Maddie. This Fall would be the first time any new shows of Zoey 101 would air because it was taped during the Summer.

It’ll be interesting to see if they’d continue the show after her departure.
