iTunes predicts Adam Lambert American Idol 8 winner
As if most of the country isn’t choosing Adam Lambert as their prediction for American Idol winner this season, comes news of an Apple iTunes glitch with their Idol ranking that shows Adam Lambert is the most popular based on the most downloaded tunes.

American Idol producers had hoped to keep the iTunes ranking information secret to avoid spoiling the show results, but the glitch last week revealed the Idol ranking – and Lambert comes out on top.

Adam Lambert takes over the top 6 of the top 10 spots on the Idol iTunes download list, with his “Mad World” landing him in the top spot.

Other Idol favorties on the iTunes secret ranking list are Kris Allen who has three of his performances in the top 10 and Danny Gokey with just one, “Endless Love,” making the list.

This iTunes ranking glitch doesn’t necessarily predict Adam Lambert as the American Idol 8 winner because it’s unclear if those hungrily downloading the songs are the same folks who are voting – but it’s a good indicator of popularity.
