Last night the Idol Give Back special showcased a lot of performances and a lot of fundraising.

Il Divo sang one of my favorite songs, “Somewhere”:

Jack Black hammed it up with a pretend attempt at singing a Seal song, to which Paula quipped, “The School of Rock called, they want their diploma back.” Seal himself was in the audience and he also hammed it up by applauding and calling it the best rendition of his song that he had ever heard.

Kelly Clarkson performed “Up to the Mountain” with Jeff Beck:

Josh Groban had a beautiful performance with the African Children’s Choir:

Carrie Underwood went to Africa and performed “I’ll Stand By You”.

And as much as I dislike Celine Dion, her performance with a hologram of Elvis Presley was one of the coolest things I have ever seen:
