“Hogan’s Heroes” Star Ivan Dixon, Dead at Age 76

“Hogan’s Heroes” actor Ivan Dixon died Sunday, March 16 from kidney failure complications and a hemorrhage at age 76.
While Ivan Dixon was an accomplished Broadway actor — including turns in “A Raisin in the Sun” and “The Cave Dwellers” — he also starred on the big screen (among his film roles, “A Raisin in the Sun,” “A Patch of Blue” and “Car Wash”).
Ivan Dixon was best known for his role on TV’s “Hogan’s Heroes,” playing U.S. Staff Sgt. James Kinchloe.
Ivan Dixon also had directing and producing credits on his resume.
