The High School Musical legacy lives on in a new sequel! The Disney Channel announced that a High School Musical 4 original movie has been given the green light.

Don’t expect any of your favorite Wildcats to come back, however – High School Musical 4 will feature a whole new cast, and will focus on a “classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.”

Production on the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical 4 is scheduled to later this year; the movie will premiere on the Disney Channel in 2010.
