Heidi Klum Sued by Van Cleef & Arpels Jewelry

“Project Runway” host and Victoria’s Secret model Heidi Klum is in a bit of trouble – she’s just been sued by jewelry company Van Cleef & Arpels.
Apparently, Heidi Klum also has a jewelry line and one of her designs is, in Van Cleef & Arpels’ minds, a rip off.
The clover design created by Heidi Klum GmbH and Mouawad USA has been found to be so similar to Van Cleef & Arpels’s Alhambra line that they could create “confusion in the marketplace.” Heidi Klum is being sued for copyright infringement.
Designer Pascal Mouawad, of Mouawad USA, says the claim “has no merit. It’s clear that shapes like clovers, hearts, crosses, etc, are universal symbols and are commonly used in jewelry.”
