Heath Ledger Found Dead in NY Apartment
The news of Heath Ledger’s death is an absolute shock, but the Oscar nominated actor was found dead in his New York apartment today. Heath Ledger was 28.
While the exact cause of death is unclear, prescription pills were found near his body. No foul play is suspected, but an autopsy will be performed.
Heath Ledger’s housekeeper found his body at 3:26 PM today, when she went to his bedroom to tell him his masseuse had arrived. Heather Ledger was found unconscious and the housekeeper called 911.
Heather Ledger was in full cardiac arrest when the police arrived; while they performed CPR, they were ultimately unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ledger plays The Joker in the next Batman film, “The Dark Knight.” While Heath Ledger has appeared in many films (and was nominated for his role in “Brokeback Mountain”), he got his start on Australian television before moving to American TV, starring in the short lived series “Roar” on Fox.
Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have a two-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose.
