HBO Plans Barack Obama Documentary, Produced by Edward Norton

A Barack Obama documentary has been in the works since 2006, but given the recent election results, the documentary is now in hot demand. HBO has paid low seven figures for U.S. TV rights to the Barack Obama documentary, which will air in 2009.
Edward Norton’s Class 5 Films is producinig the HBO Barack Obama documentary, which will include highlights of Obama’s 2006 trip to Africa, his 2007 presidential announcement, as well as interaction with family, friends and campaign staff on his road to the White House.
Shooting for the Barack Obama documentary will continue through the inauguration in January 2009.
Edward Norton said of the project, “We believe this film will capture a tipping point in American history, when a new generation of leadership emerged and old prejudices were finally vaulted over.”
