Today was the big day – Grammy award nominations were announced. Any surprises? Well, Kanye West lead the nominations, receiving eight, including Album of the Year.

Amy Winehouse made out well too, with six nominations (also an Album of the Year nom) – Winehouse was appreciative of the nominations, saying, “I’m honored to have my music recognized with these nominations. This is a true validation from people I respect and admire.” Amy Winehouse also apologized to fans for her recent – um, issues.., saying, “Thank you for all your kind letters and emails, I am grateful for all your support.”
