Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is setting the record straight on rumors that he cheated on his wife. Last week, London’s Daily Telegraph reported that author Sarah Symonds said she and Gordon Ramsay have had a seven-year affair.

Sarah Symonds, incidentally, is the author of Having an Affair: A Handbook for the Other Woman.

Gordon Ramsay, who’s been married to wife Tana for 12 years and has four kids, said during a recent BBC appearance, “I want to give you a big thank you for coming – it’s been a tough week.”

Ramsay joked, “We had a new bed delivered this week – the paparazzi outside must have been thinking that I’d been forced to sleep in the basement. Mattress, mistress, mattress, mistress. What a load of bulls–t. My mum is here so I’m on my best behaviour, ooh la la.”

“Oh f— it, I didn’t do it, mum. I love you.”
