Golden Globes down the tubes
Don’t bother to set your Tivo for the Golden Globes this year – NBC has officially canceled them now that the actors have refused to cross writer picket lines. Instead they will be offering a scaled-down telecast to let us know who the major winners are. Good! Now maybe they’ll take this seriously and do something for the writers before we run out of decent TV and movies! Check it out here.

The studios? Old fashioned 19th century media barons letting the people who create the programs share in the revenue from 21st century distribution methods? Yeah, like that’s unlikely.
What’s more likely is that enough brain-dead TV addicts will tune in anyway to make the studios realize that they don’t actually need writers to keep attracting the addicts to their drug. They could put a fireplace on the TV and people would watch it. Oh wait, they did, and they do.
