God, Cowell's only just finished X Factor in the UK yesterday! I know this guy's job is judging talent contests and he makes millions doing it... but I'd be slitting my wrists by now, if I were him!

Even if he genuinely still enjoys doing it, his judgment must be clouded by... just seeking out whatever seems to have worked previously to earn him millions in album sales... and no genuinely different/unique voices will come out of it. I'm not sure what the hit-rate of singers is in the US, but it's relatively poor in the UK (only Will Young and Leona Lewis have had any proper success.)

Of the US winners, I'm only aware of Kelly Clarkson myself... so is it true there's not even any real chance you'll become famous in the US either? In the UK, people tend to just give you a #1 album/single, then you'll struggle... until next year's competition makes the previous winner look like yesterday's news.

Oh well. Cowell's happy enough churning out these 12-month wonders.
