Family Ties Reunion on Today Show February 7 (Video)

Who doesn’t love a good TV show reunion? And when it’s the cast of “Family Ties” — reunited 20 years later — well, get me that video clip fast! I loved “Family Ties” back in the day and it was nice to see the Keaton family back again.

The cast of “Family Ties” reunited on the “Today” show today, February 7: Michael J. Fox, Meredith Baxter, Michael Gross, Justine Batemen and Tina Yothers reunited with executive producer Gary David Goldberg.

What brought the “Family Ties” cast back for a reunion? They join Matt Lauer to discuss Gary David Goldberg’s new book “Sit, Ubu, Sit.”

They all look great, and it’s interesting to learn how all of the actors were cast on “Family Ties.”

My heart absolutely broke when I saw the condition Michael J. Fox was in. Suffering so clearly now from Parkinson’s…whenever he chose to speak it seemed reminiscent of a child trying to talk amongst the grownups with them barely acknowledging what he had to say…I wanted to burst through the screen and say, “People, just pay attention and stop cutting him off…be patient…be humble…please!” but rather I could not and could only watch as he struggled with his words trying to fit in comfortably. Did anyone else feel as I did? I don’t know, maybe it’s my critical Virgo nature or maybe I am just getting old (born in 1960) and cranky.

Annalisa — I know what you mean about Michael J. Fox — it seemed like they were very impatient with him, like they couldn’t wait for him to spit out what he wanted to say. Then again, maybe they were feeling the rush of squeezing in all their comments in a short interview space? I love Michael J!
