Ellen DeGeneres has opted not to co-host the American Idol “Idol Gives Back” show with Ryan Seacrest, despite having the gig last year.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain have all joined “Idol Gives Back,” which airs on Wednesday, April 9 on FOX, beginning at 7:30.

American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe commented, “Ellen, we were told, couldn’t do it due to personal production pressure. We have all the presidential candidates on the show. You expect them to be there because they are involved in politics.”

Last season, “Idol Gives Back” raised over $76 million.
