Why should he have to settle for someone that he feels no chemistry for. This is an example of the superficiality of The Bachelor as a program. The audience expects an outcome for their own satisfaction. How can you expect to know, in 5 weeks, whether you want to spend the rest of your life with someone. I went out wit my husband for 7 years before marrying him and we have now been happily married for 20 years. Marriage is not a decision that should be taken lightly and I believe Brad showed courage and honesty to go with his guts and not bow to the expectations of the public or the program's format. Hold your head up high Brad - you are a gentleman and not the jerk that everyone makes you out to be. It was also very gracious of Ellen to give him a chance to do so. I always thought that Brad did the right thing and I command him for taking the road less travelled. Others with less integrity would have given false commitment and ride the media wave like so many others did. I wish that even today as Deanna is doing her Bachelorette thingie, she would stop whining about "what Brad did to her". Brad actually treated her with respect and integrity.
