Ellen DeGeneres and ‘Idol’ news is still buzzing – the word that Ellen DeGeneres would take over judging duties for Paula Abdul on American Idol has people divided, with many wondering if she’s qualified to take on the gig.

While Ellen DeGeneres may not have a singing or producing background, some could argue that Paula Abdul wasn’t exactly the most qualified candidate for Idol judge either.

Personally, I think Ellen will do a great job – she’s got gobs of fans from her stand-up days and daytime talk show, is well-liked and genuine. Besides, she’s a whole lot more coherent than Paula Abdul and can interject a bit of comedy into the show.
