Since Katie Holmes appeared on yesterday’s Good Morning America, Diane Sawyer has come under fire for asking the actress softball questions.

Many were expecting Diane Sawyer to cut to the chase and ask hard hitting questions about the recent tell-all book about her husband, Tom Cruise.

Instead, Diane Sawyer took Katie Holmes on a trip down memory lane and of course chatted up Suri and her new movie “Mad Money.”

Good Morning America executive producer, Jim Murphy, told the New York Daily News:

“[Diane Sawyer] had every intention of going there. But like always, Diane wants to produce creative elements, clips of her early life, spring surprises and have some fun.
It was one of those bad calls on my part.

Diane doesn’t generally get angry, but she was disappointed in how I handled it, yes.”
