‘Desperate Housewives’ Philippines Apology

The Filipino government is demanding an apology for the producers of ‘Desperate Housewives’ after the show’s Sunday night series premiere sprouted off ethnic biases against Filipinos.
During the show, Teri Hatcher used a racial slur against Filipino medics and they are demanding an apology.
During a medical examination Susan Mayer asked, “Can I check those diplomas because I want to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines.”
“The US recognizes the students of Philippine medical and nursing schools and in general, does not require additional schooling in the US for Filipino healthcare professionals,” says Filipino consul in Los Angeles Mary Jo Bernardo Aragon.
