Days of Our Lives Fires Patch and Kayla, Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols

Seems Marlena and John aren’t the only long-time couple to get fired from Days of Our Lives – Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Patch and Kayla also got the axe from DOOL.

Something tells me if fans weren’t bailing on Days of Our Lives for the John/Marlena cut, they’ll be bailing on DOOL now that Patch and Kayla (played by Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols) are on their way out.

The news that Days of Our Live is firing Patch and Kayla is somewhat surprising, given that a recent popularity poll found they were the favorite actor, actress and couple on Days.

If Bo and Hope get canned next, I’d say DOOL is pretty much toast.

It’s stupid to be firing all the main stars on DOOL. Seriously, do they really think people are going to want to keep watching Days if they continue this. I am alreayd loosing interest in Days after firing John and Marlena. Now, this just makes me loose that much more interest in the show. Bring back John, Marlena, Steve, Kayla, Shawn, and Belle.

I never watched DOOL. I didn’t know who Steve and Kayla were, until Stephen Nichols joined Y&R earlier this year. I fell in love with him immediately. So I did some research…found out he was on DOOL and GH and started watching clips on youtube of him and Mary Beth Evans. Those two have such amazing chemistry, its almost shameful that they were fired. I realize they are actors with their own lives, but those two have something special. I’m on the hunt now for every scene those two have ever played together. Dumb move DOOL, but great for Y&R. Now if we could just get MB Evans to come over to Y&R, I’d be one happy camper.
