David Letterman with beard
Yep, that’s a picture of David Letterman in full-out beard interviewing Robin Williams on tonight’s first episode of Late Show since the writers’ strike.

David Letterman came out for his monologue (while dancing girls held picket signs) and said of his beard, “I know what you’re thinking. You think Dave looks like a cattle-drive cook.”

David Letterman’s first guest was Robin Williams, seen in this picture, while Democratic presidential candidate Hilary Clinton made a cameo appearance via tape from Iowa, saying:

“Dave has been off the air for eight long weeks because of the writers strike. Tonight, he’s back. Oh, well, all good things come to an end.”

Robin Williams got his fair share of teasing in about David Letterman’s beard, saying “My God, man, you’ve aged.”

David Letterman’s signature top 10 list was a list of the striking writers’ demands — read by the writers he struck an agreement with. Strike demands included: “Complementary tote bag with next insulting contract offer” and “Hazard pay for breaking up fights on The View.”

When I saw Dave come on the show tonight. I had to do a double take. Robin Williams asked about Gen. Lee. Someone else commented about Kenny Rogers. When I did my double take, I had to see a picture of Ernest hemingway for comparison.
