David Cook will have one special guest in the audience during tonight and tomorrow’s American Idol shows — his brother, Adam Cook, who is suffering from brain cancer.

We reported earlier in the month that David Cook’s brother is battling cancer and that, in turn, was stressful for the American Idol finalist, landing him in the hospital.

People is reporting that Adam Cook will be there to support his brother, David Cook, when he sings a Mariah Carey song tonight.

Initially, he was told that he couldn’t fly commercially, but friends and family got him a chartered medical jet and medical staff to get him to the American Idol show. He was eventually given the go-ahead by doctors.

No doubt that David Cook’s performance will be an emotional one.
