Dave Chappelle Breaks Stand-Up Comedy Record

Dave Chappelle has done it again – delivering a six hour and 12 minute stand-up routine that breaks the record previously held by… Dave Chappelle. Chappelle previously held the record of six hours and seven minutes, set in April.
According to Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada, “Dave was determined to keep his record because he recently heard that Dane Cook was planning on trying to break (his) record.”
Dane Cook broke Richard Pryor’s 1980 record (two hours and 41 minutes) in early April, clocking in at three hours and 50 minutes (and really, that’s about three hours more of Dane Cook than I can handle – but that’s just me.).
Dave Chappelle walked away from a $50 million deal from Comedy Central in 2005. “Chappelle’s Show Season One Uncensored!” became the best-selling DVD of a television show.
