Daughtry
Not too shabby for an “American Idol” runner up: Chris Daughtry sold 3.2 million copies of his band’s album in 2007, marking it the most popular album of the year. After Daughtry, top sales go to Akon (2.7 million), Hannah Montana soundtrack (2.5 million), Fergie (2.4 million), and Carrie Underwood (2.3 million).
