The Crooked Houses Jon and Kate Plus 8 “special announcement” episode is getting more attention for more than just the news of the Gosselins’ divorce – the Crooked Houses featured on Jon and Kate are also getting tons of buzz.

And why not? With 10.6 million viewers tuning in to Jon & Kate Plus 8 on Monday, the Crooked Houses company got huge exposure.

The boys got a blue pirate-style Crooked House playhouse, while the girls got a pink “Gosselin Garden Shop” house. The twins each got their own Crooked House – one a vet clinic, the other a haunted house.

Kids Crooked Houses is a Maine-based playhouse maker, inspired by the crooked homes seen in old cartoons.

Crooked Houses can be custom made, with basic models for $1,249, while other models hit a $4,449 price tag.

Jon and Kate Gosselin’s kids received custom Crooked Houses that were rumored to cost at least $7,000 each.

Since the Jon and Kate Plus 8 episode aired on Monday, Kids Crooked Houses owners Glen Halliday and Jeff Leighton said they’ve been “inundated” with phone calls and catalog requests.

Halliday said, “Within 60 seconds of Kate saying the phrase ‘crooked houses’ on TV last night there were 170,000 visitors to our Web site.”

Halliday was unaware that the episode where they built the houses would also be the Jon and Kate Plus 7 divorce announcement, saying, “We had no idea our houses would be combined with the Gosselins’ special announcement. To be completely honest, it was great exposure for us, but it was bittersweet.”

The Gosselins should give up the show and concentrate on rebuilding their marraige. They have a book about their lives in Christian book stores everywhere, they attend church and profess to be Christians. Christians make mistakes, but they should get out of the “reality show business” and concentrate on real life. Pull together Gosselins and put your family first.

I watch the show once in a while and I did watch the one on Monday night.

I never read anywhere that they did any kind of marriage counseling. Kate has always been so unkind to Jon on the air which is a terrible thing to do to her husband. Jon did let her run over him and she should have put a stop to that.

My heart goes out to the children who do not understand why these things happen and have a tendency to blame themselves. I have had this happen in my own life.

I hope that they can come to terms with his and settle this in a way that it does not damage their children. They should cancel the show but then how would they live without all that money.

The show was cute as are the kids NOW. But in a few years from now when mommy and daddy are not together and they still are cruel verbally towards each other these cute kids will pick up on it. They will become their bickering parents and not be able to live solid lives with whom they choose. This has long term effects Jon and Kate. Both of you should spend some of the new found cash on counseling and get back to restoring your marriage into a life for all 10 can enjoy and embrass. Get over the she said he said and work work work on what is important and don’t be like others and give in so fast. Marriages can be saved you both just need some solid professional help with open hearts and minds.

No where during the whole show or the clip above did I see anyone from the Gosselin family say “THANK YOU” Jon didn’t even sound nice when the guy showed him the wall stickers. I guess now they (all 10 of them) all think that the should get everything in the world.
