Criminal Charges to be Filed Against Richard Heene, Balloon Boy Father (Video)
Criminal charges are expected to be filed against the balloon boy’s father, Richard Heene, according to a statement made by the Larimer County Sheriff’s department in this video clip.
Richard Heene’s son, Falcon, was thought to be aboard a homemade helium balloon that was set afloat on Thursday.
After a massive search-and-rescue operation, 6-year-old Falcon was found at home in the garage attic. Rumors of a hoax spread like wildfire, though the family denies it.
Sheriff Jim Alderden says at the news conference in this clip: “We do anticipate … there will be some criminal charges filed in respect to this incident,” likely a misdemeanor, which the Sheriff comments “hardly seems serious enough given the circumstances.”
Federal charges are also possible in the case as further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Geraldo Rivera calls balloon boy dad Richard Heene a “piece of crap” in this video clip:
