Cool news, “Chuck” fans - NBC has given a back-nine order (full season pickup) for the computer-geek-turned-secret-agent series. And the second season of “Chuck” hasn’t even premiered yet!

“Chuck” returns to NBC September 29 at 8 p.m. The Hollywood Reporter reports that NBC execs liked the first six episodes of the second season enough to issue the early full season pickup.

NBC Entertainment executive vp Teri Weinberg commented, “We couldn’t be more excited with the creative direction Josh (Schwartz) and his team are executing on ‘Chuck.’ This show has really hit its stride and deserves a full-season commitment to carry out the producers’ vision for this unique series.”
