Despite the recent beating incident of girlfriend Rihanna, Nickelodeon is keeping singer Chris Brown on their Kids’ Choice Awards ballot. You can bet plenty of people are outraged – in fact a petition is making the rounds to have Chris Brown’s name removed.
Nickelodeon issued a statement that said, “The kids who vote will ultimately decide who wins in the category.”
Chris Brown is nominated in the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards categories of Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song (for “Kiss Kiss”).
Chris Brown took to his MySpace blog to ask fans to vote, then the group Twittermoms started up an online petition to get Brown’s name yanked from the ballot.
The Twittermoms wrote:
“We are appalled [sic] that Chris Brown and Rhianna [sic] are still listed as a nominees on the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards show. Brown’s name should have been removed from contention the moment the charges were filed.
Making things worse is that his victim, Rhianna [sic], also a nominee, refused a no-contact order and plans to continue the relationship in spite of a violent attack by Brown. Had she made the rational decision to accept the no-contact order and end the relationship, she would not be named in this petition!
While we don’t think public figures are expected to always act responsibly in the name of being a role-model, this situation is unacceptable on both sides. To say that either of these people setting a suitable example to be held up as ‘winners’ is preposterous.”

Brown should be removed from consideration for the Kids Choice award. If he was at all responsible he would remove himself. We can see that isn’t going to happen because he definitely is not a responsible person. Nick is showing that the exposure they are getting from this outweighs doing the right thing and pulling Brown’s name from consideration stating what he did is not acceptable. However, their greed will prevent them from doing the right thing.

For the upcoming 2010 Kids Choice Awards, Rihanna should be REMOVED due to her disrespectful Album cover in which she pose TOPLESS in BARB WIRE. What kind of message does this send the KIDS? Would you want your child to vote for her?
