Here’s ridiculous for you. Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy is apparently a huge wake-up call for parents to have to talk to their kids about sex, contraception, and pressure. There are articles popping up everywhere such as this one on how to use the Jamie Lynn saga to discuss it with your kids.
Good thing there are teen celebrities getting knocked up for stupid parents to get a clue.
Let’s just hope Lynne Spears’ new book doesn’t have any parenting tips – that would be scary.

Is a Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge wedding the next step after Jamie Lynn’s recent pregnancy announcement? Maybe. Maybe not.
Casey Aldridge’s Uncle Odus told People magazine:
“They may or may not [get married]. I hope they will stick it out and get married for the child’s sake and their sake, but if they’re not in love and it was just a fantasy, they don’t need to make the same mistake twice.”
Although Nickelodeon released a statement in support of Jamie Lynn Spears, no one knows for sure what will happen to her show Zooey 101. However, according to USA Today, Nickelodeon may be planning to create a special about sex and teen pregnancy. There’s no word about whether Jamie Lynn would be directly involved, but since she’s a young girl who is a role model to other young teens, I guess the network is figuring it’s an important topic to broach as soon as possible.
When word of Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy broke, we discovered that 19-year-old Casey Aldridge is the father. This led many to wonder if he would be subject to any criminal statutory rape charges for having sex with a minor.
Since laws vary depending on the state, and it’s unclear where the sexual intercourse took place and his age at the time – he could face charges. If Casey Aldridge was 19 at the time and it took place in Louisiana, he could be charged with “felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile” (defined as “sexual intercourse with consent between someone age 19 or older and someone between age 12 and 17.”).
