According to David Duchovny’s lawyer, “David is out of rehab and about to start a new movie. He successfully completed his treatment.”

One day at a time, David.

New York Daily News is reporting that David Duchovny’s sex addiciton treatment is the result of cheating on his wife.

The National Enquirer has a source that says David Duchovny was caught cheating and that Tea Leoni gave this utimatum: “Get treatment or our marriage is over.”

The gossip rag also maintains that he’s been linked to “multiple sources,” including an extra on “Californication,” that he “ended up making out” with, according to the source.

David Duchovny is currently seeking treatment for sex addiction at a 35-day course at the Meadows rehab center in Wickenburg, Arizona.

FoxNews.com is reporting that David Duchovny’s sex addiction was with online porn, equating it to a gambing addiction where he would be “trapped” in chat rooms.

David Duchovny issued the following statement about his sex addiction rehab: “I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

David Duchovny’s show Californication premieres September 28. He has been married to actress Tea Leoni since 1997; they have two children: Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6.

Gillian Anderson, who plays Dana Scully in The X-Files, and boyfriend Mark Griffiths broke the news to People.com. The couple have a son, Oscar, and Gillian Anderson has a 13-year old daughter, Piper, from a previous marriage.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe hits theaters July 25.

The first X-Files movie pictures have been released, and while they aren’t too revealing plot wise, it does give us a peek at David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. More details and X-Files movie pictures after the jump.

And that will just have to do for now, since the X-Files movie (known as Untitled X-Files Sequel) has a tentative release date of July 25th.

Series creator Chris Carter says the X-Files movie will be a little different than the series, doing away with the mythology stuff to create a film that can stand on its own.

Chris Carter told USA Today:

“We want a stand-alone movie, not a mythology conspiracy one. There’s a whole audience I want to introduce X-Files to. There were kids who couldn’t watch it on TV because it was too scary. Now they’re in college. I wanted a movie that everyone could go to.”

Will Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully be shown in a steamy love scene? One source told Britain’s Daily Express:

“There was one draft of the script where Mulder and Scully have a bedroom scene but it looks like that has been put on hold. David and Gillian are concerned about having the characters involved in some kind of love story, as they feel that was the beginning of the end of the original show. Negotiations are on-going.”

Personally, I would love to see Mulder and Scully re-connect, but I know that’s been a sticking point with some fans. Oh well, sexual tension is always good too!

“X-Files” movie casting news includes the addition of Amanda Peet and Xzibit (from MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”) as FBI agents and Scottish comedian Billy Connolly… well, there are no details yet on his role.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be back as Mulder and Scully; “X-Files” creator Chris Carter co-wrote the script and will direct. The “X-Files” movie is expected to be released July 25, 2008. Clear your calendar.

Aw, shucks. Maybe we’ll all just have to wait until “X-Files 2” comes out to see what really happens. Shooting begins this month.
