Captain Lou Albano Dead at Age 76

Pro wrestling legend Captain Lou Albano died this morning at age 76. The Miami Herald reports that Lou Albano was under hospice care before his death.

Captain Lou Albano was a huge presence in the pro wrestling biz in the 1980s before becoming a manager… and of course, Albano played Cyndi Lauper’s father in the “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” music video.

Jennifer Hudson’s fiance, David Otunga, has signed on with WWE and is currently training to become a wrestler with Florida Championship Wrestling. You may remember David Otunga from the reality series “I Love New York 2,” where he was known as “Punk.” Otunga is a Harvard Law School graduate.

Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga were engaged last September.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon appeared on the ‘Today’ Show on Thursday. The wrestling federation boss called WWE superstar Chris Benoit, who murdered his wife and son before hanging himself over the weekend, a ‘monster.’

Vince has continued to caution the public against ‘blaming Roid Rage.’

“Steroids may or may not have had anything to do with this,” Vince told Meredith Vieira. “It’s all speculation until the toxicology reports come back.”

Chris Benoit Killed Son In Choke-Hold, Injected Seven Year Old With Growth Hormones

Chris Benoit murdered his seven-year-old son Daniel by putting him in a choke hold, something he did many times in the WWE ring, according to news reports.

There were also needle injection marks on the boy’s body, indicating that the pro wrestler was injecting his son with a growth hormone because he thought he was too small. What a sick bastard!

Chris murdered his former National Wrestling Alliance wrestler wife and son, then hung himself in the basement of the family’s suburban Atlanta home over the weekend.

WWE Releases Statement Citing Five Reasons Why Chris Benoit Murder/Suicide Isn’t Their Fault

World Wrestling Entertainment has issued a statement in the murder/suicide of professional wrestler Chris Benoit.

World Wrestling Entertainment is stunned and saddened by the details released by local authorities concerning the double homicide-suicide involving Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son, Daniel.

However, WWE is concerned with the sensationalistic reporting and speculation being undertaken by some members of the media following the press conference held by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney. During the press conference, the investigating authorities made the following points, all of which run contrary to the media speculation that “roid rage” was a factor in the senseless murders and suicide:

1. The authorities stated that all drugs found in the house were believed to be legal prescriptions.

2. Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation). Authorities had no factual basis to speculate as to Benoit’s state of mind, and rightly did not do so.

3. Toxicology tests have not even been completed, so there is no current evidence that Benoit even had steroids or any other substance in his body. In that regard, on the last test done on Benoit by WWE’s independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007, Benoit tested negative.

4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife’s feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage.

5. WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.

WWE is continuing to monitor the ongoing investigation being conducted by local authorities.

Steroids Found At Chris Benoit’s Home, Bibles Placed Near Bodies Of Slain Wife And Son

Authorities say prescription steroids were found in the home of pro wrestler Chris Benoit and his slain wife and son were found with Bibles placed beside their bodies.

Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard said at a news conference Tuesday that Benoit strangled his wife in the family’s office and asphyxiated his son in his bed before hanging himself in the basement of their home, using weights attached to a pulley.

Sheriff’s Lt. Tommy Pope says autopsy results reveal the wife was killed Friday and the son was likely killed the next day.

Pope said investigators also believe Benoit killed himself hours after the son was killed Saturday or Sunday morning.

He said a Bible was placed by the bodies of each victim.

Chris’ wife was bound by her feet and wrists and blood was found near her head, her body was wrapped in a towel.

The seven-year-old boy was found killed in his bed. Autopsy reults show mother and son died of asphyxiation.

The bodies were found in three separate rooms of the house, off a gravel road about two miles from the White Water Country Club.

Nancy Benoit filed for a divorce in May 2003, saying their three-year union was irrevocably broken and alleging “cruel treatment.”

But she later dropped the complaint, as well as a request for a restraining order in which she charged that Benoit had threatened her and had broken furniture in their home.

WWE champion Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their seven-year-old son Daniel were found dead in their home near the White Water Country Club in the Atlanta suburb of Fayette County on Monday afternoon.

Lieutenant Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said the three were found about 2:30 p.m., but he would release no other details. Police are reportedly investigating the deaths as a murder/suicide in which Chris murdered Nancy and Daniel before turning the weapon on himself.

Update: Chris strangled his wife, smoothered his young son, and hung himself, according to reports.
