I’m not the biggest fan of Chelsea Handler, but I thought she would do a decent job hosting the Video Music Awards. I was wrong.

Maybe the writing was really crappy or Chelsea was really nervous (most likely both), but her delivery was shaky, the bits were weak, and the lack of VMA drama left nothing for her to quip about off the cuff.

The New York Times dubs Handler, “among the worst [hosts] in the show’s history, noting that Chelsea “never looked comfortable,” and was “undone by nerves, brittle material, and the wattage of those around her.”

The Washington Post was no kinder, saying that Chelsea Handler’s opening monologue was but “a string of flat punch lines that felt a few degrees below crass.”

How do you think Chelsea Handler did as VMA host?

Ellen, a vegan, asks what the deal is with Lady Gaga’s meaty fashion choice… Gaga explains:

“It’s certainly no disrespect to anyone that’s vegan or vegetarian. As you know I’m the most judgment-free human being on the Earth. It has many interpretations, but for me this evening it’s [saying] if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.”

Also? she’s “not a piece of meat.”

Lady Gaga and her meat dress graced the stage during her acceptance for the Video of the Year (check out her acceptance speech in the video clip), and she’s getting mixed reviews on the fashion statement.

From gross to offensive… and yes, even lame… Lady Gaga’s meat dress isn’t for everyone. Or very few, it seems.

I’m going out on a limb here that the whole thing is made of plastic meat – otherwise, it would smell pretty god awful, but why look like you have slabs of meat slapped on your body, a steak draped over your head for a hat, beefy shoes and a meat purse?

Lady Gaga explains the meat dress’ message: “Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgement-free human being on the earth.
