Mischa Barton is at the Sundance Film Festival to promote her new film Assassination of a High School President. She talked a bit about the changes since wrapping up on The O.C..

On staying busy after The O.C.: “My life has changed a lot. I’ve been busy and working and rediscovering everything about making all these films in a row.” (Walled In and You And I (Finding tATu))
On being reflective: “It’s nice now to take a break and kind of look at what I’ve done. We didn’t have long to shoot this movie but it was fine. I think almost the pressure helped because we joked around a bit, but there was always this time thing hanging over our heads, so maybe it was good for us.”
On Assassination of a High School President: “I thought it was really smartly written for a teen movie. It’s got great dialogue and really great characters, and even though they’re kind of stereotypical, they’re not cliche and I really like that. It’s kind of dark, not to say that my sense of humor is dark but I really like where it’s at. The characters are hopefully really believable and not over the top.”
The good news is that unlike the Globes, the SAG awards will go on. The bad news is we may have to listen to more insanity from Tom Cruise. The actor has signed on as a presenter. He will be joining Steve Carell, Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey, and Forest Whitaker, as well as others who have not yet been formally announced. The awards will take place on Sunday.

Now here’s a Grammy performance worth tuning in for – a duet between vocal powerhouses Tina Turner and Beyonce Knowles.
The 2008 Grammy Awards will air February 10 and it looks like this is one award show where the stars will actually show up – the Writers Guild of America announced that it will not picket the Grammys.
News of more 2008 Grammy Award musical performances will be trickling in, but the Foo Fighters have definitely confirmed their participation in the awards show.
Crazy Denise Richards won her court case, according to TMZ.. She has been petitioning the courts because she wants to do a reality show with her young kids (both under the age of 5). Her ex-husband Charlie Sheen strongly objected to having his children’s privacy blown apart and having them exposed on reality television, stating it was a case of Denise being greedy and desperate for attention.
Shockingly, the judge granted her the right to do the show with the kids – specific undisclosed rules are in place, but she gets the show. Good lord.
The first picture of the new U.S.S. Enterprise has been released in heavy anticipation of a new Star Trek movie. The film is being directed by the incredible J.J. Abrams of Lost fame. I wonder if Gene Roddenberry ever could have imagined that the Trek world would still be going strong this many decades after the original series.
Jennifer Love Hewitt is allegedly in negotiations for a daytime talk show that she says will be an inspirational show aimed at young women.
You know what? I actually like her a lot and with two daughters of my own, I’m all for media that inspires young women rather than making them feel like they need to be skinnier or more made up, and I’m definitely all for a woman who is beautiful and stands up to being called “fat” being the one behind the show.
Keri Russell, famous for her role as Felicity, will be lending her voice to play Wonder Woman on a straight-to-DVD animated movie which will be available by the end of 2008 or early 2009.
