The cast of Ugly Betty joined their writers at the picket lines with the above tagline. Ugly Betty has thirteen scripts, and they are currently working on the 12, so they have script through December 6, if they decide to use all thirteen scripts. In the meantime, though, they’re showing their support for their writers in a way Ellen Degeneres will clearly never understand: through their actions as well as their words.
The actors of Ugly Betty fully believe that their writers are doing the “write” thing – and they’re supporting the writers in it. Rebecca Romijn, who plays Alexis Meade on the show, said, “We didn’t realize how much of a security blanket it is, having these writers there. When something isn’t working now, it’s like, ‘What do we do?’”
In the meantime, they’re doing the best they can – and continuously supporting their writers.
Thursday’s “wedding” episode of Ugly Betty is anything but boring. While the bride-to-be (Wilhelmina Slater) is sleeping with the bodyguard, maid-of-honor Victoria Beckham is showing up and stealing the show. Oh, and (groom) Bradford Meade’s first wife is not only a prison escapee, but she’s armed and dangerous. Basically, the wedding is a disaster waiting to happen.
But it’s not all bad. Vera Wang makes a guest appearance on the show to sew the bride into her Vera Wang gown. In her own life Betty Suarez has moved in with Henry – even though he’s pregnant with someone else’s child. Evidently Dad feels the same way I do, because it puts a slight strain on the relationship he has with his daughter, even as he excitedly prepares for becoming a citizen.
Unlike other shows in their second year, this one started strong, and hopefully it’ll stay that way.
Apparently Ugly Betty is the show to be on this season. Now Lindsay Lohan is the latest celeb to be in talks to appear on the show; she’ll be an ex-beauty queen who works in a fast food joint as their assistant manager before being discovered by Betty.
Snoop Dogg will play himself on the Dec. 13 episode of ‘Ugly Betty.’ Snoop gets trapped in an elevator with Betty, but later comes back to entertain during a New York Fashion Week fashion show.
The very NON-ugly America Ferrera of Ugly Betty was honored at a breakfast for the Hispanic Women in Entertainment organization. She was named the Hispanic Woman of the Year for being “a leader for all women but especially those in the Hispanic community [and she is] dedicated to advancing the position of Hispanics in television and film”, according to publisher John Kilcullen.
Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera received a “Latina Leader” award this week at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute award ceremony. I love America Ferrera, she’s probably one of the most real girls in all of Hollywood.
