Michael Brea, the Ugly Betty actor who killed his mother, is said to have used a 3 foot long sword, not a samurai sword, as was previously reported.

It’s unclear what role Michael Brea played on Ugly Betty, as Michael Brea isn’t on IMDB, but news sources credit him with playing a character on the series.

The Ugly Betty actor was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after killing his mother in her Brooklyn apartment.

Michael Brea’s 55-year-old mother, Yanick, was murdered by Brea, who reportedly used a sword to stab his mother at her Prospect Heights, Brooklyn home.

A neighbor told the Daily News that “Michael was yelling, ‘Repent, repent, sinner, sinner,’ over and over again. He was screaming, ‘You never accepted Jesus.’ It was real loud.”

Brea is undergoing psyhciatric evaluation.

It’s unclear what role Michael Brea played on Ugly Betty, but he also appeared in Step-Up 3D.

Williams will be a full time series regular, with TV Guide Magazine reporting that she will be somehow connected to Paul (Mark Moses).

Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz, who played Hilda Suarez (Betty’s sister), said that a big screen version may be in the works.

Ortiz tells Latina.com, “There may be a movie. It’s something that we’ve been talking about and it’s something that [Ugly Betty star] America Ferrera would really love to do. That woman has so much determination that I can’t imagine anything she puts her mind to not getting done.”

I loved the way they ended the series, but did feel that need to know what happens next, so I’d be on board for a movie version.

Then again, maybe they shouldn’t ruin a good thing.

The Ugly Betty series finale “Hello Goodbye” will include characters from the past and “Betty finds it hard to tell Daniel important news about her future,” according to the episode synopsis.

As for how Ugly Betty will end, naturally rumors are swirling that Betty and boss Daniel will end up together, but Betty star America Ferrera teases that there may be new realtionships for Betty “or old relationships that become new and kind of change a little bit.”

The mystery “Happy Town” will take over Ugly Betty’s Wednesday vacancy beginning on April 28.

Ugly Betty’s current fourth season will also serve as the final season – and worse… Betty’s episodes have been cut back the episode order from 22 to 20.

The question now is… how will they wrap it all up in the series finale?

Executive producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson issued a statement that read: “We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”

I’ll be sad to see Ugly Betty end… any other faithful fans out there?

Next – rumor control. EW.com is reporting a rumor that there may be a Betty and Daniel romance ahead on the series.

Betty and Daniel already kissed earlier this season, though that was quickly written off because Daniel was in a funky cult tea haze.

Series creator Silvio Horta has confirmed with EW.com’s Ask Ausiello that there could be a hookup between Betty and her boss, mirroring the outcome of the telenovela on which the series is based.

Horta says, “We’ve been batting around the idea. It is not outside the realm of possibility that something [could] happen, but we’re not sure yet.”

Since Eastwick was canceled, there’s a vacancy on the Wednesday night schedule, so Ugly Betty could air at 10 p.m., following Modern Family and Cougar Town.

The new timeslot would definitely help bump up the numbers a bit.

ABC has yet to announce the move to Wednesdays, so stay tuned.
