Sheen is reportedly repairing his relationships and developing a sitcom called “Anger Management.” Indeed, as Matt Lauer notes, he’s a very different guy right now.

Sheen’s Comedy Central roast airs on Monday, the same night as the season premiere of Two and a Half Men.

Charlie says things are a lot “calmer” now and “I didn’t really know what happened” over his trainwreck behavior: “I said some stuff and it caught such traction… I couldn’t really put out the fire, so I had to keep fueling it.”

Sheen says he’s now sober, but hasn’t kept track of the time.

Also? He says he’s going to watch Two and a Half Men and thinks Ashton Kutcher will do a great job.

TMZ reports that Charlie Sheen is apparently in negotiations to star in a new sitcom, that might premiere in January 2012.

There have been no details about which network the Sheen series would be on, nor what the show is even about, but a source claims Sheen’s reps are in “deep negotiations,” with a deal expected by the weekend.

You have to wonder if Sheen has completely depleted his fan base with his antics – even those who seemed to support Sheen’s brand of crazy have dwindled a bit.

Interestingly enough, Charlie Sheen’s Twitter has been quiet since the news broke, but Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter has had a couple of little hints about his new gig.

Don’t get the idea that Charlie Sheen has nothing to say about it though, as he tells TMZ, “Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!”

Charlie adds, “Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB. Enjoy planet Chuck [Lorre], Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”

So, in a battle of Charlie Sheen’s Twitter vs. Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter, who’s more winning? Kutcher clearly has the leg up in number of followers (6.7 million vs. Sheen’s 3.9 million), but don’t forget that Charlie also set a record by getting a million followers in the shortest time.

UPDATE: Charlie Sheen finally addressed Ashton Kutcher directly and Kutcher responded. Here’s the exhange:

Ashton Kutcher is said to have a new role and not replace Charlie Sheen as the character of Charlie Harper. Other Sheen replacements rumored to step in have been Hugh Grant, John Stamos, and Rob Lowe.

Two and a Half Men creator / executive producer Chuck Lorre commented, “We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family. Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it’d be illegal.”

Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment says of Kutcher joining the cast: “Ashton is a pop culture triple threat—film star, cutting-edge producer and a social media pioneer. He brings creativity, energy and personality to everything he touches. We are thrilled to have him, and excited beyond words for what he brings to the next season of Two and a Half Men.”

Ashton Kutcher has been dropping hints on Twitter about the Two and a Half Men role too, tweeting a wink, then later posting “What’s the square root of 6.25?” The answer = two and a half.

Kutcher, who has 6.6 million Twitter followers, could be a solid choice to replace Charlie Sheen, as Ashton has quite the following plus he’s proved he can contribute to a successful TV show (That 70s Show).

While salary specifics are unknown right now, TMZ.com reports that Kutcher will certainly make a lot less than Sheen’s $1.25 million per episode.

Sources say that Kutcher will get more than half of that – more than $625,000 – but less than $900,000.

As for the character Ashton Kutcher will play on Two and a Half Men, he may be replacing Charlie Sheen, but he won’t be taking over Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper. He’ll have a new role on the series.

CBS and Ashton Kutcher’s reps have not commented on the rumor, but naturally Kutcher would snag a “huge payday” for the gig.

Hugh Grant was previously rumored to replace Sheen.

Kutcher had this to say on Twitter: “I’m starting to become convinced that people put my name in articles just to improve their SEO or hoping I’ll tweet it.”

Hmmm….

Angus T. Jones definitely looks like he’s lost some weight from the last time we’ve seen him on Two and Half Men – he IS 17 years old now, so perhaps he’s outgrown some of that kid fat.

Angus T. Jones was interviewed at a charity gala earlier this week, asked about whether he’s seen Charlie Sheen’s show (he hasn’t, but wants to) and what he thinks about Two and a Half Men continuing.

Jones sounds like he has a positive outlook either way, but you’d have to think he’ll be missing that $300,000 per episode paycheck if Two and a Half Men is cancelled.

Naturally, Charlie Sheen took to Twitter to give the play-by-play, tweeting at 8:53 p.m.: “#fastball: all good here on homefront. all reports are false. I’ll explain more very soon. #Dogspeed c”

An LAPD officer told E! News: “We were there investigating a possible violation of a temporary restraining order filed on March 1.”

A statement from the LAPD read: “It came to the attention of the LAPD that Sheen is the registered owner of firearms” and that the search was conducted “to determine if he is in possession of firearms and ammunition in violation of the [restraining order].”

Sheen tweeted after 10 p.m.: “#fastball; the LAPD were AWESOME. Absolute pros! they can protect and serve this Warlock anytime!!! c”

And then tweeted: “”50 cops in my home. they all left. I’m still here. WINNING? 24/7 c”

Meh. I didn’t think the Charlie Sheen Funny or Die video was all that funny… then again, I think I’ve grown tired of seeing Sheen’s face everywhere.

Still, it’s getting him more attention, and that’s what Sheen seems to crave constantly.

Phew! Looks like Lowe is staying on Parks and Recreation, as Rob Lowe’s Twitter account hinted recently that he would not be replacing Charlie Sheen.

Schur was asked about the Rob Lowe rumors at a panel at Paleyfest and said it’s not true: “The Internet lit a match and set itself on fire,” Schur explained.
