Ever the fan of top 10, 25, 50 or 100 lists, I was pleased to see Entertainment Weekly’s 50 picks for ‘TV’s Greatest Icons.’ And of course, what would a top 50 list be without an accompanying TV special (especially a list of top TV icons)? TV Land will air a two-hour special on Friday at 8PM, providing min-profiles of each icon along the countdown. TV Land’s special will also ask viewers to text-message their pick for the number one spot, and will reveal the audience’s choice at the end of the broadcast.

The list isn’t just relegated to human stars either – even Kermit, Lassie and Homer Simpson make the cut. Iconic Johnny Carson tops the list… will your favorite TV stars land in the countdown?
