David Groh, best known as Joe Gerard (Rhoda Morgenstern’s husband) on “Rhoda,” died Tuesday of kidney cancer. He was 68.

Ever the fan of top 10, 25, 50 or 100 lists, I was pleased to see Entertainment Weekly’s 50 picks for ‘TV’s Greatest Icons.’ And of course, what would a top 50 list be without an accompanying TV special (especially a list of top TV icons)? TV Land will air a two-hour special on Friday at 8PM, providing min-profiles of each icon along the countdown. TV Land’s special will also ask viewers to text-message their pick for the number one spot, and will reveal the audience’s choice at the end of the broadcast.
