MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL) is getting ready to close shop – and they’ve got a big finale in store. Beyonce will perform on the TRL Total Finale Live when it airs November 16 at 8 p.m.

Beyonce made the announcement on yesterday’s TRL, saying, “I can remember being 16 or 17 when they asked us to be on the show, and it was our big moment,” adding, “It’s not cool to document your moments at 17.”

MTV Cancels Total Request Live/TRL After 10 Years

In an effort to further remove all music videos from their programming, MTV has announced that the network is cancelling Total Request Live/TRL. TRL has been on the air 10 years.

According to TRL executive producer Dave Sirulnick, “We want to close this era of TRL in a big celebratory way, and 10 is a great number. This feels like the right time and let’s celebrate it and let’s reward it.”

TRL was one of the last places on MTV you could actually see a music video, with the abundance of non-music video programming that took over the music network.

TRL will air a special two-hour episode in November, which will include an appearance by former VJ Carson Daly.

Despite the rumors, Nick Lachey’s rep told Us magazine that there was no truth to the Bahama wedding gossip, with Lachey in Cincinnati preparing for the show “Clash of the Choirs.”
