Wow, impending motherhood sure is changing Nicole Richie. Following her Wizard of Oz baby shower over the weekend, she and boyfriend Joel Madden created a charitable foundation to donate the baby gifts to those in need. The gifts will go to 100 expectant families through the Richie Madden Foundation (cute, huh?) via the Los Angeles Free Clinic.
Rashida Jones (Karen, “The Office”), who attended the shower, said, “It’s really sweet. With all the swag these days, we’re given so much stuff it’s almost wasteful, and it’s kind of nice when we’re giving to each other to give to someone else.”
Nicole Richie’s baby shower went off without a hitch in Beverly Hills yesterday. Richie’s mom, sister, and pals Paris Hilton and Masha Gordon played host to the Wizard of Oz themed shower. The party included life-size replicas of Dorothy, the scarecrow, the Wicked Witch of the West, the tinman and the lion. There was even a Wizard of Oz cake. Which begs the question – “why?” Kind of a kooky little theme, don’t you think?
Guests included Lauren Conrad and DJ Samantha Ronson (frequent pal of Lindsay Lohan) – in all, there were 90 guests. Richie has five more baby showers planned.
E! has pulled the plug on ‘The Simple Life.’ The reality TV series, featuring former Hilton Hotel heiress Paris Hilton/Nicole Richie will not be picked up next season. “The Simple Life” originally ran on the FOX network, and was later picked up by E! Monday night’s controversial episode will feature the socialites undergoing a ‘Black Woman Makeover’ courtesy of ‘Blackface.’ Read the rest of this entry »
Paris Hilton’s time in jail is destroying the ratings for The Simple Life this season. E! CEO Ted Harbert said:
“We all thought the publicity would help the show; we were wrong. It’s not doing well,”
Nicole Richie is just so darned cute. Now that she’s put on at least three pound, she’s adorable and she was a guest on Live With Regis and Kelly this morning to promote the latest installment of The Simple Life – I was surprised they didn’t ask her about Paris’ in-and-out jail time (this was shot before the new sentence) but maybe they weren’t allowed.
Regis had some time off so Neil Patrick Harris filled in as co-host. I just want to put him in my pocket and bring him home, that cute, funny little guy!

Although the new Grey’s Anatomy spin-off, Private Practice, is going to be great for Kate Walsh who plays Addison, her co-star Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres) says that she will miss her very much.
“I think she is amazing, and I am going to miss her to death,” Ramirez said Wednesday at a party in New York for People En Espanol’s “50 Most Beautiful” issue.
Sara also said that she enjoys being a role model for women. She said:
“I’m very proud to be in this business at this particular time, and I just hope the opportunity will continue to come where I can show the world that there are other sizes, other personalities. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.”
