Mischa Barton Released from Hospital; Resuming Role on “The Beautiful Life”

Mischa Barton has been released from the hospital and is ready for work on her new CW show, “The Beautiful Life.” Mischa Barton had been placed on involuntary psychiatric hold.

Barton’s rep says, “I can confirm that she’s left the hospital with the intention to resume production [on her new CW show The Beautiful Life].”

Show creator Ashton Kutcher adds, “I can tell you right now Mischa Barton is doing great.”

The Beautiful Life premieres September 16 at on The CW.

Mischa Barton on Psychiatric Hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Psych Ward

Mischa Barton spiced up the celeb news today with reports that she was removed from her home yesterday and has been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The psych hold is known as a 5150, so Mischa Barton could be a danger to herself or others. You may recall Miss Britney Spears was held involuntarily twice last year.

Mischa Barton Pleading No Contest to DUI, Avoids Jail Time

Mischa Barton, who once starred on television’s “The O.C.,” is planning to plead no contest to DUI charges at her Thursday arraignment.

The plea is expected to get Mischa Barton a three-year unsupervised probation term and three months of alcohol education class (as well as a fine) — but no jail time.

This is Mischa Barton’s first offense.

Mischa Barton Says No to Gossip Girl Role

Picky, picky. Mischa Barton was offered a role on CW’s “Gossip Girl”… but she turned it down.

Mischa Barton was asked to join the “Gossip Girl” cast, playing Georgina Sparks, an old friend of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

According to Mischa Barton’s rep, “She will not be on the show. She was approached, but her reps passed.”

“Desperate Housewives” casting news — a new hot guy will be coming to Wisteria Lane!

According to TVGuide.com, Chris Carmack, who played Luke Ward on “The O.C.,” will play Susan’s cousin Tim. The character comes on board to do Susan and Mike’s taxes. No, really!

With “Desperate Housewives” though, you know it’s not just as simple as a character who pops in to do taxes… there will be some scandal from the past involved for the new character.

Mischa Barton Talks About DUI Arrest with Ryan Seacrest

As rumored, former “The O.C.” star Mischa Barton called in to Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show to talk about her DUI arrest.

Mischa Barton told Ryan Seacrest about the December 27 arrest:

“I got a DUI when I was back in LA. I was pulled over. Obviously, I am 100 percent responsible for my actions, and I am really disappointed in myself. I am not perfect, and I don’t ever intend to do something that stupid again.”

According to Mischa Barton, she typically tries “not to get behind the wheel” – she doesn’t even have a valid driver’s license.

Of the media attention she’s getting, Mischa Barton said:

“It is tough when people are talking about you all the time. You just have to roll with it. I feel like I’ve got my head on my shoulders pretty good.”
