Group Wants “Gossip Girl” Threesome Episode Pulled (Video)

The upcoming threesome episdoe of Gossip Girl teased in this promo video (season 3, episode 9) is not sitting well with the group Parents Television Council, who is asking CW network affiliates to pre-empt the show.

The Gossip Girl TV ads tease a “3SOME” – an episode which PTC president Tim Winter says is “reckless and irresponsible.”

The promo video doesn’t reveal who will be in the threesome on the November 9 episode.

Winter wrote a letter to CW affiliates about the Gossip Girl episode, asking, “Will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?”

CW spokesman Paul McGuire maintains that the target audience for Gossip Girl is 18- to 34-year-old women.

Ashlee Simpson & Castmates of Melrose Place; Castmates Say Ashlee Simpson a “Diva”

Ashlee Simpson and castmates of Melrose Place didn’t get along? That’s the buzz since Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was fired from the new Melrose Place – as castmates report that Simpson was a “total diva” on the set.

At this point, it’s all rumor… while Ashlee Simpson’s castmates may not have enjoyed working with her, there’s little argument that Simpson is lacking in the acting talent department.

News that Ashlee Simpson was fired from Melrose Place broke last week – Simpson played Violet Foster on the re-do of the popular 1990s series.

An insider has reported that “Ashlee was kicked off Melrose Place because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members. It created a lot of discord among the cast.”

Of course, executive producer Todd Slavkin had a more professional take on giving Simpson the boot: “We felt that once the murder mystery (involving their characters) was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift … and (Simpson-Wentz’s) character would move on.”

Then there are rumors that Ashlee was booted to make more room in the budget for Heather Locklear’s character to return.

I guess the biggest question here is… “Is anyone even watching Melrose?”

A source told Us Weekly that Ashlee Simpson was hired “because they needed a good name to help create buzz”… “But she was embarrassingly bad,” and “She’s the worst actress, but nobody will tell her.”

The first fall TV cancellation goes to… The Beautiful Life, after just two episodes aired.

The Beautiful Life starred Mischa Barton and was produced by Ashton Kutcher, but even that pedigree couldn’t save its ass.

The CW cancelled The Beautiful Life before anyone even got a chance to see it or form an opinion – did you tune in?

Demi Moore and The Beautiful Life? The rumor that Demi Moore would appear as a guest star on hubby Ashton Kutcher’s CW series “The Beautiful Life” is just that – a rumor.

A CW rep tells E! Online that Demi Moore will not make a guest appearance on The Beautiful Life, saying “This is not true.”

Ashton Kutcher is the creator and executive producer of The Beautiful Life.

Heather Locklear Planning Return to New Melrose Place?

Could Heather Locklear’s Amanda Woodward character be returning to Melrose Place? Usmagazine.com is reporting that Locklear is in talks to join the updated Melrose Place.

The show insider squeals: “There are definitely talks going on. It’s better-than-even money that she’ll do it. Everyone’s optimistic, absolutely.”

Additionally, the source says that Heather Locklear “saw the pilot and loved it. Hopefully [producers will] figure out something great for her creatively.”

What do you think of Locklear returning to the series? Original Melroses stars Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga are also coming back in their original roles, so why not?

Melrose Place premieres September 8 on the CW.
