If nothing else, the upcoming debut of “The Celebrity Apprentice” on January 3 is a good diversion from the typical “Apprentice” setup. But how does “boss” Donald Trump feel about the upcoming edition?

According to Donald Trump, firing celebrity apprentices is a challenge:
“In some cases in particular, I had a hard time firing some of these people because I’ve known them, not necessarily personally, but I’ve known their achievements. Possibly firing Olympic gold medalists… people that I’ve watched… is certainly not an easy thing.”

Trump also commented, “There’s some unbelievable hatred among the [players], beyond anything in Apprentice 1 or 2. You wouldn’t believe it.”

NBC has announced its midseason shows, so hopefully there’s a glimmer (or two) of hope for TV fans looking for some promising winter programming:

• “American Gladiators” will begin January 6 (Sunday) at 9 PM before moving to Mondays at 8 PM on January 7.
• “Medium” will return on Monday nights for its fourth season, beginning on January 7 at 10 PM. Anjelica Huston will guest star for six episodes.
• “Deal of No Deal” will air Mondays at 9 PM beginning on January 7, as well as continuing at 8 PM on Wednesdays.
• “Baby Borrowers” is a new reality show beginning February 18 at 8 PM. While the title sounds a little strange, it’s a social experiment that shows teenagers the responsibility of caring for babies, getting a job and a home. On second thought, it sounds strange all around.
• “1 vs. 100″ returns on Fridays at 8 PM.

Donald Trump is trying to develop his latest golf resort in Scotland, but Scottish Authorities have denied his plan.

According to the managing director of Trump International Golf Resorts, “Mr. Trump is shocked, extremely disappointed and dismayed at this decision. This is certainly not something we expected.”

Donald Trump wanted to build a golf course along the coast line, which is inhabited by rare birds — the Scottish council rejected Trump’s resort in order to protect the birds’ habitat.

It’s hard to believe that NBC ever gave the green light to a celebrity edition of “The Apprentice,” but it’s true. Fourteen celebrities will compete to win money for the charity of their choice. Look for “Celebrity Apprentice” on January 3rd… which one of these celebs do you think will win the $250,000 prize?

‘That Apprentice’ Season One beyotch Omarosa will once again try to work for Donald Trump in this fall’s edition of ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’ ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ that will also feature Kimora Lee Simmons, George Foreman, Jim Cramer, Carmen Electra, Joan Rivers, Naomi Judd, Pete Rose, Dana Patrick, and Jeff Gordon. The stars will each compete to raise money for various charities.
