Amazing Race 15 Cast Includes Harlem Globetrotters, Former Miss America, and More

CBS has announced the cast for the upcoming The Amazing Race 15, which premieres September 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Check out the CBS web site for more pictures of The Amazing Race 15 teams, which include two Harlem Globetrotters, a former Miss America, professional poker players, yoga teachers and a contestant with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Racers on this season of The Amazing Race will travel eight countries in 21 days and the show will include an elimination of one team before they even begin the race! No doubt plenty of other twists will be in store for this season too.

Survivor’s Amber and Rob Mariano Have a Baby, Daughter Lucia Rose

Wow, who knew Amber Brkich was even pregnant? Survivor/The Amazing Race couple (oh, and stars of the reality show Rob and Amber: Against the Odds) Rob and Amber Mariano had a baby! Amber gave birth on July 4 to daughter Lucia Rose.

Rob Mariano commented, “Both mom and baby are healthy and doing great. Lucia is a great eater and sleeps a lot, however she tends to be a bit of a night owl like her daddy at times. She is a perfect baby and we could not have asked for anything more. We are over the moon with happiness at her arrival!”

Here’s hoping they keep the tot off the reality show circuit.

Rob and Amber Mariano have been married since April 2005.

Tammy and Victor!

Jaime and Cara (former NFL cheerleaders) came in second, and Margie and Luke (mother / son) finished third, with the show finishing up in Maui. The brother-sister team of Tammy and Victor were a pretty solid team overall, and it wasn’t too surprising to see them win.

Are you glad that Tammy and Victor won? Were you glad to see the sometimes irritating Jaime and Cara lose?

The Amazing Race Renewed for 15th Season

The Amazing Race will return for a 15th run during the 2009-1020 season – CBS announced the 15th edition and has already begun casting for the reality series.

Phil Keoghan will return as host for The Amazing Race; season 14 Sunday, May 10 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

Who Won Amazing Race 13? Brother/Sister Team Nick and Starr Spangler Race Winners

Nick and Starr Spangler won the 22 day challenge, crossing the finish line first to scoop up The Amazing Race’s $1 million prize.

The Amazing Race 13 Debuts September 28

EW.com has a great rundown of what’s to come with season 13 of The Amazing Race when it debuts September 28.

Executive producer Bertram Van Munster gave EW some hints about what’s to come on The Amazing Race 13, including:

The Amazing Race will cover 40,000 miles over 23 days and contestants will travel to five continents.
Not a lot of dirt on the contestants, but Van Munster comments on the youngest team, two guys in their early 20’s: “They’re made for television. They’re supersmart — and they make terrible mistakes.”
Other Amazing Race contestants include Oregon hippies and a pair of divorcees.
Look for more interesting challenges, as Van Munster promises, “We’ve really outdone ourselves in the department of outrageousness.”

New Season of The Amazing Race Kicks off September 28

The Amazing Race returns for its thirteenth (!) season on Sunday, September 28 at 8PM ET/PT, following 60 Minutes and followed by Cold Case and The Unit.

The thirteenth season of The Amazing Race has already finished filming – the finale wrapped in mid-May in Portland, Oregon.

CBS’ Survivor: Gabon will also debut in September (September 18 at 8PM ET/PT) – this is Survivor’s 17th season!

Emmys Adding Best Reality Show Host Category?

Well, it’s not a sure thing, but a new category may be added to the Emmys this year: Best Reality Show Host.

Variety is reporting that the new category has tentatively been approved, but there’s been no confirmation from Emmy-central yet.

Who do you think would take the prize for best reality show host? Ryan Seacrest, Jeff Probst, Phil Keoghan or…

On second thought, why bother? Phil Keoghan of The Amazing Race would win every time!

Rachel Rosales and TK Erwin Win ‘The Amazing Race’

Another season of “The Amazing Race” wrapped – with Rachel Rosales and TK Erwin taking home the $1 million prize.

Rachel Rosales and TK Erwin are the couple from Huntington Beach, California. They won the final leg of “The Amazing Race” in Anchorage, Alaska, searching through tanks of crabs, scaling a glacier, flying by helicopter and solving a rather tricky puzzle.

According to TK Erwin, “Nice guys can definitely finish first.”

Father/daughter team Ronald and Christina Hsu and grandfather/grandson team Donald Jerousek and Nicolas Fulks were also in the final three. In all, three very likable teams made it to the end.
