Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Officially Canceled

We reported last month about the rumored cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but fans have been holding a torch in hopes that the rumors were false and Sarah Connor Chronicles would be renewed.

Unfortunately, official word now comes that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has, in fact, been canceled.

A lot of people are speculating that it was either Terminator or Dollhouse that would live to see another season – and with word that Dollhouse has been renewed, Sarah Connor Chronicles is a casuality for Fox’s 2009-2010 season.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Expected to be Cancelled

According to EW.com, it’s likely that Termintator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be cancelled by Fox. Their sources maintain that Fox will not be renewing Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third season.

Sources say, “It’s done” and “Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks – consider it canceled.”

No official Terminator cancellation news has come from Fox, however, with a network rep saying, “No decision has been made yet. We will be announcing our fall schedule on May 18.”

Fox Announces Winter 2009 Schedule

Get ready for some schedule shifts come this winter on Fox. “24″ returns January 11 and 12, with American Idol kicking off January 13 and 14.

Schedule shifters include a move for House back to Mondays beginning January 19 – House will air at 9 p.m. and serve as the lead-in to 24. A new Tim Roth drama, Lie to Me, will follow American Idol on Wednesdays at 9 p.m., starting January 21.

Bones will move to Thursdays at 8 starting January 15, while Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles will get the bump to Fridays (kiss of death?) at 8 p.m. beginning February 13, followed by the new Joss Whedon drama Dollhouse.

Shirley Manson will co-star on “Terminator: The Sarah Chronicles” during season two, playing Catherine Weaver, a high-tech company CEO.

Tune in this fall to see if Shirley Manson is a welcome addition to The Sarah Chronicles – or if she keeps that Scottish accent.

Fox has officially picked up “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” for a second season. “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” has enjoyed a successful first season, so the renewal news isn’t much of a surprise.

“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” premiered to 18 million viewers, but later dropped to an average of 10.8 million viewers.
